The Nure Valley by bike - itinerary 1
Itinerary on asphalt and gravel roads
A cycle trail 50 kilometres long, across the territory of Podenzano and of Grazzano Visconti. Ideal for city bikes.
Leave the centre of Podenzano, heading towards the main road SS. 45, and after 1 km turn left to Verano, where we suggest you stop and admire the frescoes by Richetti in the church.
After crossing the Trebbiola, pedal on to Chiesuola, a 14th-century convent transformed into a villa in the 19th century.
The road continues to climb up to the Bagnolo (303 m). Surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, you head in the direction of Ponte dell`Olio; having descended again to the river Nure, you head towards Piacenza. It is worth stopping to visit Grazzano Visconti on the way.
Continuing along the provincial road SP 546, follow signs to Altoè, where there is a castle, now a private residence. From here you can return to Podenzano, or you can continue to San Polo, where you can follow the bed of the Nure as far as the splendid woods of the "Fornace Vecchia", rich with wild fauna.
From S. Polo you can return to Podenzano via Albone and the Giarone.
