Religious Celebrations in honour of the Madonna della Quercia in Bettola
From Sunday 26 August to 30 September 2012 Bettola honours the Patron of the Val Nure
Every year on the last Sunday in August the statue of the Madonna della Quercia "descends" from her throne and is placed in the presbytery of the shrine dedicated to her.
This is the start every year of the month dedicated to Our Lady of the Oak, patron of the Nure Valley and its people.
On the last Sunday in September, with the equally fascinating rite of the "ascent", the Sacred Image is returned to its original position.
