Over the last few years, archaeological digs have been carried out in the upper Nure valley, near Cassimoreno, which have brought to light the interesting remains of the palaeolithic of Piovesello.
The researchers of the University of Ferrara, together with their students, offer guided visits of the dig in the period between Monday 16 July and Sunday 5 August 2018, from 8.30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
At the weekends there will also be didactic activities dedicated to children and moments of presentation of scientific data.
The event is part of the project 'Paleo APPennino, Piovesello tra preistoria e età multimediale' ('Palaeo APPennine, Piovesello between prehistory and the multimedia age') aimed at the protection and advertising of the archaeological-naturalist site, integrating it into the museum system of the Province of Piacenza.
To reach the site of the dig, take the track on the right of the cemetery of Cassimoreno, where the CAI path 051 starts, going towards Lagazzo; after about 15/20 minutes' walk you will arrive at the archaeological dig.
The visits to the dig are free.
Organisation: Paleo APPennino.
