Itinerary along the Via degli Abati
We suggest an itinerary in the municipal territory of Farini, once upon a time followed by the monks travelling to and from the monastery of Bobbio and now rediscovered as a path for trekking. For some years now a hike has been organised along this route at the beginning of May.
Reaching the territory of the Nure valley from Coli, the first stop will certainly be the Cappelletta Pass, with the chapel of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel, where the landscape is dominated by Mount Aserei. Descending towards Farini, we suggest a stop at Mareto.
A chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel was built in the 19th century on the Cappelletta Pass at an altitude of 1036 metres.
At the Pass of the Cappelletta, between the Nure and the Perino it is possible to visit the small chapel erected in 1897 and dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Monte Aserei, 1432 metres above sea level, offers a spectacular view over the Nure and Trebbia valleys. Various paths, some suited to trekking, lead excursionists to their goal.
