Gropparello – 61st Festa dell’uva
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September 2017
Gropparello pays homage to tradition with the Grape Festival, the Festa dell’Uva, in programme for Saturday and Sunday 9 and 10 September 2017.
The event – taking place for the 61st time - offers two days of festa with a series of tastings, markets, games in the piazza, exhibitions and musical performances.
On Saturday 9 September 2017, starting at 3.30 p.m., the 22nd Val Vezzeno Hike. (see below)
In the evening, starting from 7 p.m., the food stands will be open, followed by liscio dancing with the orchestra Ringo e Samuel.
Sunday will be entirely devoted to the wine-making tradition of the area, with an exhibition of varieties of grape, and tastings of wine and local produce. There will also be an exhibition of paintings, hobbies and local crafts and a children's market.
The official opening by the local authorities will be at 11 a.m.
The food stands will be open from midday, serving traditional local food.
In the afternoon – at 3.15 p.m. - display by the Band of the Unione Valnure Valchero G.F.M. La Coppa.
It will be possible to watch or participate in traditional popular games, such as the grape-pressing competition (at 4 p.m.) and the fun-filled Palio delle Frazioni competition (at 4.30 p.m.).
This will be followed (at 5 p.m.) by a performance by the New Happy Dance dance school.
At 5.30 p.m. prizes will be awarded for the best grapes on display and the winners of the various competitions. There will also be prizes for the best shop window display and the paintings exhibited.
In the evening music and entertainment by the band DasF Act and the orchestra Athos Bassissi.
In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed until the following Sunday.
