Castle of Gropparello - Winter Castle: the Magic of an Enchanted Christmas
During the month of December 2017 the castle of Gropparello wears an enchanted air and offers visitors the possibility of guided visits on a Christmas theme, part of the initiative 'Castello d’Inverno: la Magia del Natale Incantato - Winter Castle: the Magic of an Enchanted Christmas'.
The castle of Gropparello can be visited on guided visits every day at 11.30 a.m., if booked ahead of time.
On Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays there are two visits, at 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. (as long as they are booked ahead of time).
To take part in a guided visit to the the castle of Gropparello it is necessary to book ahead, at least before 5.30 p.m. the previous day.
The guided visits take place in a truly wonderful setting, with fireplaces ready to be lit and halls decorated for feasts, with garlands and rich brocades.
The 'grand tree' returns to the Sala d’Armi while in the drawing room on the piano nobile you breathe the perfumes of winter spices, honey, vanilla and cinnamon served with traditional tea and biscuits with raisins baked in the ancient kitchens of the castle. By the fireplace the old family dolls wait for the children, curious to learn about the games of yesteryear.
The owners of the castle (8th-13th centuries) will take visitors around, explaining the historic research they have done, the care of the castle today and the marvellous park with its English garden.

10.00 euro per person
Those who wish can also book a meal at the Taverna Medievale of the castle.
