Pradovera is an area including a number of scattered homesteads.
The Castle was erected in the 12th century, one of the most important strategic centres of the valley, controlling a vast area of the Apennines between the Trebbia and the Nure. Opening on to the Perino valley, it was destroyed by the French in the 16th century. The castle belonged to the Balbi, Peveri, Pallavicino, Arcelli, Scotti Fulgosio and Visconti famillies, the last making Pradovera the seat of a count in 1438. From here it is possible to make an excursion to the Cappelletta (the little chapel), bult in 1897 and dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine, set in an immense pine forest, to Monte Osero and to Monte Aserei.
