Santa Maria della Neve
Chapel in Sariano
Outside the town is the church, usually called “Chiesuola”, dedicated to Santa Maria della Neve (of the Snow). A church must first have been built here in the 10th or 11th century. It was then modified and altered various times, especially in the 18th century, thus asuming its present appearance: a rustic church with a gabled façade and a massive bell tower. The original Romanesque architecture is visible in the apse and tower. Inside a 16th-century fresco depicts Our Lady of the Snow.
