The village becomes very lively in the summer. It was a fief of the Nicelli who built a castle there. There is, however, no record of fighting involving either the castle or the village. In addition to its military use, the castle had a library which included a precious copy of the Aeneid printed in the 16th century. The castle was then transformed into a villa by the Sidoli. In fact the famous painters Pacifico (who was born here), Nazzareno and Giuseppe Sidoli came from Rossoreggio.
