Monument to the Fallen - Ciriano near Carpaneto
Commemorative memorial dedicated to the Fallen of the Great War
Ciriano was the first place in the province to erect a monument in memory of the Fallen of the Great War.
Originally placed at the entrance to the town, it later had to be moved when it became necessary to widen the provincial road (when a number of houses also had to be demolished) and it was then placed at the end of the square.
It is a sober and simple memorial: on the basement, made up of stones from various theatres of the War, are the images of the Fallen. From the base rises a tall granite column topped by a sphere, the support for the eagle of Victory.
A small cannon is placed next to the monument.
