A Pavia enclave and its "Lombard saints"
in the area of Bettola
The Pieve of Revigozzo and the churches of Olmo, Vigolo Valnure, Groppo Ducale, Bramaiano and Rigolo were at one time subject to the authority of the bishops of Pavia.
Today almost all the parish churches of these localities are dedicated to Lombard saints, with the significant exception of Bramaiano, dedicated now to Santa Maria Assunta and in the past to Santa Maria in Maiano.
It seems, however, that there was a cult here of the Madonna della Cintura (Our Lady's girdle), a cult imported from the East.
