The Coro Polifonico “San Fermo” was founded in 2006, under the direction of Maestro Massimiliano Pancini, Cav. Mario Fermi being the president; it takes its name from the town's patron saint, under whose statue, placed on the choir gallery, the parish choir has for many years contributed to the liturgy of the church in Carpaneto.
The S. Fermo choir has in fact grown out of the liturgical choir, which began singing in 2004 for the celebrations of the patronal festival of the saint in Carpaneto.
Up until 2009 Elena Pancini was organist for the choir.
In April 2005 the choir collaborated in the performance of the Concerto “La Passione” by Beppe Cantarelli (becoming part of the “Millenium Choir”) and in December 2005 of the Concerto of the ”Magnificat” in Prato Cathedral and in that of the "Virgin Mother" in Piacenza Cathedral.
The choir has participated in various musical performances such as Christmas and summer concerts, as well as at civic events (25 April and 4 November), and at many charity concerts.
The Coro S. Fermo has collaborated with local associations such as Aido, Avis and the Pro Loco.
Among the various occasions of collaboration it is worth mentioning that with the 'Le Ferriere' choir of Ferriere, to produce the 'Il nostro Natale' Christmas concert, with the participation of the local section of the Alpini and the Photography Club; and also on the occasion of “Not(t)e d’estate” in the summer.
Among the aims of the choir is the recovery and performance of a traditional popular repertoire, performed as part of the summer cultural programme organised by the municipality for the townspeople of Carpaneto.
At the moment the choir has 24 members and has been directed by Maestro Massimiliano Pancini since 2003. Since 2009 the president has been Valter Peracchi.
