Vezzeno Valley
The River Vezzeno rises on Monte Falò, in the territory of Gropparello and flows into the Riglio in the district of Carpaneto after a course of about 19 Km, having created a fascinating landscape, where dangerous ravines and gorges are followed by gentle hills. Little farming villages dot the valley of the Vezzeno, while from the hilltops ancient castles and churches dominate the river and the roads.
A tributary of the Vezzeno is the Rio Rosello, where many fossils are found in the clay beds dating back to the Pliocene, so that this part of the valley forms part of the Park of the Piacenzian, where there are special walks.
