Trekking Mercatello Pass - Mont Carevolo
Starting from a wide turg grove. A long time ago this small basin hosted a lake, now completely disappeared: the area was a pasture for herds of sheep and cattle, gentle breezes breathe all the time thanks to the key position between Nure and Aveto valleys. The area is full of greenery, rich in junipers with berries and in edible mushrooms.
In its first part the path passes through a wide pinewood, then continues among beeches and hornbeams at the height of 1000 m. Here it presents the typical environment in high mountain with a flora such as orchids, gentians and ferns.
The last tract of the ascent to Carevolo is steep, but the beauty of the view from the top is woth the effort.
