Castle of Rizzolo
Almost certainly founded by the Da Rizzolo, in 1335 the nobles who fled from the city of Piacenza took refuge here. The castle owes its imposing appearance to the fortifications added by the Da Rizzolo in 1391 at the peremptory order of Gian Galeazzo Visconti.
In the 16th century the castle passed by marriage to the Salvatico, who owned it up until 1866, when it passed to the Anguissola.
During the 18th century the Salvatico modified the castle and it became more of a residence. In fact, although from the outside the building still has the characteristics of a mediaeval fortress, inside the walls we discover a summer home, with a fine park and an elegant portico. The castle is privately owned and is not open to the public.
