The Ghost of Aloisa
Like all proper castles, that of Grazzano has its ghost.
She is called Aloisa and was the unhappy wife of a captain of the militia. After betraying her, he walled her up in the fortifications of the castle.
Since then Aloisa has been the mischievous ghost of the village and the castle.
One day the spirit of Aloisa appeared to Duke Giuseppe, who was a medium, and guided his hand to create her portrait. The woman was plump, not tall and with folded arms: we see her in numerous statues round Grazzano.
She is not hostile, rather the reverse. Like all creatures, she longs for affection and a smile, and she says,"I am Aloisa and I bring Love and perfumes to all pretty girls who give their smile to Grazzano Visconti".
Aloisa has become the protectress of lovers and many visitors offer her flowers and small gifts to console her, who was unfortunate in love.
